E.G.T = Exhaust Temperature

C.H.T = Water   Temperature

C.H.T/C.H.T = Water & Exhaust Temperatures

TACH =Tachometer

I HONESTLY CAN'T EXPRESS MYSELF WELL ENOUGH TO LET YOU KNOW JUST HOW IMPORTANT THE EGT'S ARE TO THE ODYSSEYS.

THE EGT THIS IS THE ONLY PROVEN WAY TOA KEEP YOU FROM BURNING A PISTON OUT AND GO LONGER BETWEEN BORES!

IT SIMPLIFIES  TUNING THE ODYSSEY CARB and CARB JETTING IS WHAT CONTROLS THE TEMPS OF YOUR ENGINE!

THE BASIC EGT IS THE ONLY THING YOU REALLY NEED. THOUGH WE DO STOCK THEM WITH TACHS, WATER TEMPS & HEAD TEMPS (MOUNT UNDER SPARKPLUG) AND SPEEDOMETERS BUT THEY ARE MORE JUST EYE CANDY.   BY THE TIME A WATER TEMP OR HEAD TEMP (THAT MOUNTS UNDER THE SPARK PLUG) READS HOT, YOU HAD YOUR HOLE IN THE PISTON FIVE MINUETS EARLIER. THE EXHAUST GAS TELL YOU WHAT IS GOING ON THAT INSTANT!

THE TACH IS ONLY GOOD IF YOU LIKE OR NEED TO TUNE YOUR CLUTCH IN, AFTER THAT ITS PRETTY MUCH JUST EYE CANDY TOO.

STAY WITH THE DIGITAL EGT, THE ANALOG EGT JUST ISN'T FAST ENOUGH. YOU EXHAUST TEMP WILL CHANGE AS MUCH AS 50 DEGREES IN A FRACTION OF A SECOND.

WE CAN USUALLY HAVE OTHER STYLES OF DIGATRONS IN 2 TO 3 DAYS, LIKE  TWO, THREE AND FOUR SCREEN UNITS AND UNITS THAT HAVE SPEEDOMETERS ON THEM.

  Digatron 46 KL-TE  (This is what I stock)
$ 215.00 kit DIGATRON single screen EGT only   INCLUDES ALUM. MOUNT & ALL CABLES & SENSORS
$ 245.00 kit DIGATRON single screen EGT & TACH only   INCLUDES ALUM. MOUNT & ALL CABLES & SENSORS    THIS UNIT COMES WITH PLUG FOR WATER/HEAD TEMP., BUT NO SENSOR W/ PLUG.    THE SENSOR CAN BE ADDED LATER
$ 270.00 kit DIGATRON single screen EGT, TACH & WATER TEMP  only     INCLUDES ALUM. MOUNT & ALL CABLES & SENSORS       (THE WATER TEMP CAN BE MADE THE  BE HEAD TEMP UNDER SPARK PLUG IF NESS.)
These gauges come with quarts backlights, with 1 memory only recall and our special made EGT bracket we had CNCed so you can mount the unit on top of your steering wheel, along with all the sensors and extensions. They come with batteries but we suggest you change those out to camera batteries that will last you years.

I WILL LIST OTHER EGT'S LATER ON. CALL ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE A NICER OR MULTI WINDOW UNIT

#1 USE  TO WARN YOU BEFORE YOU CAN DO DAMAGE TO YOUR ENGINE. The Wiseco Rings will start loosing tension with in UNDER 20 seconds after you hit or exceed 1335 degrees. Therefore you start loosing compression. A Wiseco piston will burn a hole in the top in just under 2 min. after the exhaust temp hits or exceeds 1335 degrees. If you have a EGT you can set a limit at 1250 degrees to flash and warn you so you can back off before doing any damage. If you install the EGT Unit using the Alum. Mount (the special made bracket we had CNCed and that we include with the kit) on top of your steering wheel, you will be able to catch the temp changes faster!  Because when you exceed 1250 degrees the number on the face of the EGT will start flashing to warn you to back off or shut it down!  By mounting the unit on top of your steering wheel you will find that the Digatron EGT will catch your peripheral eye vision and your attention so that you can save doing damage to anything in time.

#2 USE   TO SIMPLIFY TUNING YOUR CARB AND MAKE IT DEAD ON FOR JETTING. You can use the EGT to dial your jetting in. Jetting your carb properly will keep you from burning pistons out. Always remember that from 1/8th throttle to 3/4 throttle is your midrange and your main jet controls from the 3/4 to full throttle. What you need to do is tune your main jet first at full throttle into the 1100/1150 degrees range. After that is dialed in, then do the same with midrange at 1/2 to 5/8ths throttle, by setting your jet needle (needle in the slide). With these two to jets dialed in properly and you should be able to ride all day with out any problems. If your EGT does start to flash then you back off, finish your ride and then go to camp and trouble shoot for your problem. More than likely it will be in the fuel delivery system like a partially clogged fuel filter, weak fuel pump, bypass tee working in properly or it just maybe time to jet up because of temperature or climate changes where your riding and so on.  Always check for leaky gaskets, seal and ESPECIALLY for cracks in your rubber intake boot or even when it gets that spider web look, that is leaking air even though it does not look like they go through.

#3 USE   TO WARN YOU WHEN ITS TIME TO REJET YOUR CARB BECAUSE OF RAISING TEMPS OUTSIDE. I don't know about where you ride, but here in the good O'l land of OS, Kansas, we have to change our jetting 3 times in a hot summer and 2 times in a mild summer.

       95% of everyone seems to agree about mounting the EGT unit on top of the steering wheel. Even shorter people and kids have no problem looking around it. I personally have tired it in many places, even hit a tree one time trying to focus in on the EGT. The steering wheel mount allows you to not have to always pay attention to it. It will help draw your eyes to it when it flashs.

         I have people call me all the time and tell me how their new EGT just saved their bacon, usually on their first ride after they installed it. There are so many little things that can go wrong, from partially clogged fuel filters, cracked or spit fuel lines on the pick up side of the fuel system to cracked intake manifolds. The EGT will tell you if you have dry leaky gaskets, cracked case, bad seals, literally any reason that can cause your engine to over heat or run HOT, the EGT will warn you!! It even has 1 memory recall that you can use at the end of the ride to see if you missed anything or to keep other riders on your odyssey honest giving you peace of mind that you can be sure to keep the bad drivers off your ody and someone else doesn't burn your ody up. IT HAS SAVED MY FANNY COUNTLESS TIMES, When it goes off, I just back off and finish my ride, then go to camp, chase down the problem and go ride again.

      In fact, I will not warrant a rebuild unless you install a EGT, that guarantees to me that you can break it in properly and not over heat it causing us all grief later on. Along with the EGT, we find that taking a compression test every time we mix a 4 or 5 gal batch of fuel will help get up to 5 seasons between  boring the cyln. Of course you'll have approx. 3 ring changes or one of the ring changes may possibly be a piston & ring change to do that. When you get down to 120 lbs or no lower than 115 lbs of compression, that is when you change the rings or piston and rings if necessary. YOU WILL NEED TO USE A NEWER SYNTHETIC OIL to get that 5 seasons between bores at 32:1. Make sure that synthetic oil will mix with alcohol and not separate when temps fall below freezing outside. That is just a sign of a high quality newer generation of synthetic oils.

    We have also found that changing to the Mikuni Carb help in giving you more reliability and more power.
